My Name is Alia Faisal.

I’m an abstract artist based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. I have a degree in Fashion design but gravitated towards art. 

I’m originally from Pakistan and moved to the UK full time with my husband, who is a doctor.
My husband, myself and our son now call Cheltenham home.

I am drawn to abstract art because of its ability to challenge our imagination. By removing recognisable forms and figures, abstract art invites us to engage with the piece on a more visceral level, tapping into their own experiences and emotions.

Growing up in Pakistan, I was surrounded by a rich tapestry of colors, textures, and patterns. This upbringing greatly influenced my artistic style, which emphasises bold shapes, detailing and vibrant hues. My work is a celebration of the diverse traditions and also represents the role of women in our society.

At the heart of my artistic philosophy is the idea that art should be more than just aesthetically pleasing; it should also convey a message inviting viewers to engage with it on a deeper level.
